Gable’s game is ever evolving. “I’ve evolved more and more into an overall play-maker. I think some of my strengths are my shooting and scoring abilities, distributing the basketball, and my basketball IQ. This high school season I’ve stepped into a bigger role to where I run the 1-4 positions. So I try to create my own shots as well as create for my own teammates.”
Isaiah spent the summer playing for the Ohio Basketball Club AAU basketball program. He has spent the last three seasons performing with the organization. “I performed well. I especially thought I performed well in the big tournaments,” said Gable. “In July we went to the adidas Championships in Las Vegas. I shot the ball well and tried to make my teammates around me better, too.” During the off-season Gable has been working with Greenville Senior’s new head basketball coach on team defense and individual ball handling. “Those are the two areas of improvement that are a priority to me.”
Coaches definitely took notice of Gable’s summer achievements. He currently holds scholarship offers from Air Force, West Liberty, Notre Dame College, Northwood, and Cedarville. “Recruiting me right now is Longwood, American, and Canisius.” When asked what he was looking for in a college choice, he stated “I’m just looking for somewhere that I can have a good relationship with the coaches and the basketball is competitive.”
Gable’s goals before his senior year at Greenville Senior comes to an end include earning a GWO North championship, make a tournament run, and lead his team.
