Who was the PrepHoopsIllinois Player of the Week? You can vote for your favorite of the nominees below through Wednesday night at 10 PM. There were a lot of great candidates and here are the six up for the honor.
Lucas Williamson (Whitney Young)
Williamson had 32 points in an 88-86 win over North Lawndale. He is a versatile wing that has taken on a much bigger scoring role as a senior. One of best available prospects in the senior class.
Drake Jeffries (Mattoon)
Jeffries had 31 points against Salem. The long and rangy wing scored 19 of those points in the third quarter. Uncommitted wing can score in bunches.
Grant Wolfe (Effingham)
Wolfe dropped 25 points on Friday night against conference opponent Mt. Zion. He is one of the best southern Illinois point guards out there. Outstanding mid-range game and leader.
Jimmy Sotos (Conant)
Sotos had 29 points on Friday night including 20 of them in the first half in a 62-33 win over Barrington. The Bucknell commit did not play the fourth quarter. Among best point guards in state.
Rowan McGowen (Wheaton North)
McGowen dropped 30 points in a win over Metea Valley. McGowen is a lights out perimeter marksman that remains uncommitted.
Jalen Brooks (Riverside Brookfield)
The recent St. Norbert commit had a monster game on Friday night. He had 34 points and 14 rebounds. Brooks is an athletic wing that brings toughness and production to the table.
