MVP | JASON WADE | TES ’18
Jason Wade was “Mr. Everything” for Trinity in their win vs. VA Academy. Wade was very aggressive in transition, where he got whatever he wanted as he consistently absorbed and finished through contact. Wade shot 7 of 11 from the field and secured 6 rebounds.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | DENMARK SLAY | SSSAS ’17
Denmark Slay was unconscious tonight for the Saints. The High Point commit erupted for 32 points, showcasing his ability as a three level scorer. Slay has improved when finishing through contact and in traffic around the basket, and he is racking up more foul shot attempts this year. He drained 11 of his team-high 16 attempts from the charity stripe.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | JASON WADE | TES ’18
Jason Wade‘s defense down the stretch on Jahlil Jenkins was magnificent. Wade suffocated Jenkins and gave him no room to breathe, and didn’t get beat off the bounce. At 6’4, Wade is as good of an athlete as we’ve seen in this tournament.
BEST CATCH AND SHOOT GUY | JOSH CORNISH | CALVERT HALL ’18
Josh Cornish continues to show why he is considered among the best shooters in Maryland. The junior sharpshooter demonstrates a silky smooth touch and a quick release. He led the Cardinals with 20 points in their loss to Episcopal.

BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | XAVIER LIPSCOMB | SSSAS ’20
Freshman guard Xavier Lipscomb has had some nice moments off the bench for the Saints, and he broke out on Friday night. Lipscomb is a solid defender who plays with great energy and effort. Lipscomb hit 2 threes on his way to 9 points and 4 assists for the Saints.
BEST INTANGIBLES | JAHLIL JENKINS | VA ACADEMY ’17
Jahlil Jenkins flat out loves to compete. The reliable lead guard simply doesn’t shy away from big games, and that was the case once again tonight. Jenkins did everything he could to will VA Academy into contention. Whether it was defensively, where he swiped 6 steals, or offensively, where his 19 points led the team.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | XAVIER JOHNSON | EPISCOPAL ’19
Xavier Johnson stuffed the stat sheet for Episcopal in their win vs. Calvert Hall. He tied for the team high in points with 16 and added 8 dimes to go along with 4 steals and 7 boards. Johnson played excellent defense and where he was active, alert and used his length & quickness to frustrate opponents.
BEST REBOUNDER | ZACH JACOBS | TES ’17
Zach Jacobs continues to rack up double-doubles. The JMU commit snared 12 rebounds to go along with 20 points a block and 2 steals. Jacobs appears to be in line for an all-tournament team selection.
BEST MATCHUP | ’19 QUDUS WAHAB VS. ’19 ARMANDO BACOT
Armando Bacot and Qudus Wahab, considered two of the best bigs in the state regardless of class, went head-to-head in a competitive matchup. Bacot was ultimately the more productive big in this matchup, but both showed significant improvement and potential moving forward.
BEST STORY TO WATCH MOVING FORWARD
6’8 sophomore Charles Thompson recorded a double-double today and has been rock solid for the Saints so far. His play against Trinity’s front line of Armando Bacot and Zach Jacobs could be instrumental for St. Stephen’s St. Agnes in tomorrow’s championship.
