Nix wins Prep Hoops Oklahoma Player of the Week
Grayson Nix of Red Oak high school is the Prep Hoops Oklahoma player of the week! He was fantastic last week with great overall showings in each of his games. Red Oak made it all the way to the championship game in the Wilberton tournament.
Red Oak is a smaller school, which often does not get enough credit for the level of teams that they typically have in Class A. After losing several key players from a year ago, Red Oak is finding themselves as a program. The move up to Class A is also part of that adjustment.
Nix had 26 points and 10 rebounds in Red Oak’s opening game against Harshorne, Red Oak followed that with beating 4A Poteau in the second round Nix led the way with 20 points and 10 rebounds, in the finals Red Oak fell to 3A Wilburton Nix scored 21 points and pulled down 16 rebounds in the loss.

In the game against Hartshorn, Nix hit the game winner with three seconds remaining.
The size of Nix makes him tough to guard on the Wing with his skill set. Nix has the skills to shoot the basketball from three-point range to go along with a big frame that allows him to drive to the rim. Nix is receiving heavy interest from Division II programs in the region. He is just a junior with time to pick up more interest.
This season Red Oak is looking to Nix to be there go to player on the wing. With the team needing him to step up, Nix has answered the call.
