Commentary
Grafton is the defending champion, but once again looks undersized in a region that is very tall. Hillsboro’s talented guards and strong team defense make them the favorite heading into the season. Midway-Minto’s Dominic and Julian Schuster will look to make the Mustangs competitive in a region they haven’t been near the top of for a few years. After a promising sophomore season, Jr. Connor Konschak (12 ppg, 4.5 rpg) will look to lead Hatton-Northwood.
Dark Horse
F-S-H-P. Ethan Brown is one of the best players in the state, regardless of class, and will likely be a Mr. Basketball candidate. If they can develop more depth they should drastically improve over a disappointing and injury-riddled 2015-16 season.
