Schaefer signs with Minot State
Minot State University head men’s basketball coach Matt Murken announced Wednesday that New Rockford-Sheyenne’s Jack Schaefer has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Beavers next season.
Schaefer, from Carrington, N.D., is a 6-foot-1 shooting guard who averaged 16.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game last season for NR-S.
“Jack is someone that we have been aware of for a long time and are very excited to add to our program,” Murken said. “He is a versatile guard that can impact the game in a number of ways. Jack is also a high character young man that will be a great addition to the Minot State campus.”
During a stellar junior season, Schaefer earned All-District honors and was named to the All-District Tournament team. He hit 49 percent of his shots, 32 percent of his 3-pointers and 73 percent of his free throws.
