Sage joins guys like Colton Codute and Jarvis Thomas who he has played with during Grassroots Basketball for Minnesota Lockdown/PowerHouse Minnesota Hoops.
Sage has been in the gym regularly as he has a new outlook on the season as his surroundings will be so different.
“I’m preparing for my junior season by just improving my game overall and adjusting to playing for a new team and having a new role,” Sage said.
“I focused on improving my ball handling and athleticism this off-season. As far as our team, I think everyone on the team’s goal is to win state.”
Sage has two years of varsity experience as a Mound-Westonka underclassmen and he’s excited to bring that to Orono.
“Orono has been great so far,” Sage said. “I like basically everything about it, I was able to fit in right away and there’s a way better overall atmosphere here.”
As a 6-foot-3 wing Sage is hearing a from a few schools already.
“Right now I’ve been hearing from Augustana and Winona St. mostly.”
