MVP | JUDAH JORDAN | CCA ’19
Jordan got off to a fast start and didn’t look back. The skilled playmaker used his quickness to consistently get in the lane where he converted some crafty finishes. Jordan scored 15 of his 26 in the second half.
PLAY OF THE GAME
There wasn’t really a significant “play” that altered the course of this game, however, kudos to Jordan for his aggressiveness to the basket. The sophomore earned 14 foul shot attempts and converted on 13.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | JUDAH JORDAN | CCA ’19
Jordan was simply the most dominant offensive player in the game. In the fourth quarter alone, he earned and converted eight free throws. The sophomore playmaker lived in the lane, but was certainly a threat from the perimeter with this ability to catch and shoot.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | FLORENT THAMBA | MMS ’18
Pitt Assistant Kevin Sutton was in to see Thamba. The Panthers recently offered him a scholarship.We saw the type of impact Florent Thamba can make defensively throughout this game. The 6’10 big man used his 7’4 wingspan to alter and block several shots. Thamba also operated at the top of the press, where he his versatility and relentless motor.
BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | OSCAR TSHIEWBE | MMS ’19
Not many teams in the state have the luxury of bringing a guy like Oscar Tshiebwe off the bench. The 6’9 sophomore big was simply dominant inside. Tshiebwe unofficially recorded a team-high 15 rebounds along with 12 points.
BEST INTANGIBLES | IAN LEE | MMS ’19
Ian Lee was a nice surprise at the lead guard spot for the Challengers. The sophomore, who is a native of Canada, was very vocal. The crafty guard constantly used his quickness to push the ball in transition, where his vision and playmaking ability was on display.
BEST UNDER THE RADAR PERFORMANCE | BIKIM BIYOMBO | MMS ’17
Bikim Biyombo showcased his versatility on both ends of the floor. The athletic and long 6’5 junior played above the rim offensively, where he scored 14 points and showed an improved mid range jumper. Biyombo made an impact on the glass with 9 boards.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | JUDAH JORDAN | CCA ’19
There were plenty of talented underclassmen on display in this contest, but none showcased stronger potential that Jordan. The sophomore played with incredible energy and poise.
BEST REBOUNDER | OSCAR TSHIEWBE | MMS ’19
Tshiewbe’s productive rebound total was no accident. Owning a strong and powerful upper body, he had little trouble securing the ball in traffic while above the rim.
BEST PASSER | IAN LEE | MMS ’19
Lee demonstrated the ability to deliver a variety of accurate passes from various angles. A reliable playmaker with the ability to handle pressure, Lee used his vision to consistently set up his teammates.
