Profile:
Williams had a strong junior campaign for Peoria Manual where he led them to the state’s final four. The strong and athletic combo guard uses strength to finish at the rim and is an adequate pull up mid-range jump shooter. He will be the go to guy for a talented Peoria Manual team.
Odds to Win:
10/1
Why he Can Win:
With the injury to Romon Douglas-Watkins that makes Williams the clear go to guy and he should see his stats especially scoring tick up because of it. He is an underrated stat sheet stuffer that fills up the box score on a pretty consistent basis. Manual should be back in the state title mix once again. Williams should rack up votes in central Illinois being the premier senior prospect in the region. Also the fact he is committed to in-state Illinois and is the son of an all-time high school great won’t hurt either. Will have high profile games to play in across the state including shootouts as well as Lanphier Thanksgiving Tournament and Pontiac Holiday Tournament.
Obstacles to Win:
Williams is coming off an ok grassroots season, but he didn’t quite take that next big step many were hoping for. Can he turn that around this season and get back to the form he had for most of his junior year?
