At your school, what is your favorite part or parts about game days in terms of the routine leading up to the game?
“I like how all day you have the game in the back of your mind. And for my routine I grab a pre-game snack and then hang out with the team to get ready for the game.”
What makes your crowd unique? What is a memorable thing that they’ve done that you will always remember?
“They are always at the games and it doesn’t matter where it is. I love how they are always supporting us and it’s fun to see my friends in the stands. And one memorable thing they have done is during the section finals game against Champlin Park they chanted, “he’s a sophomore” after I scored a few baskets, I will never forget that!”
Who is the toughest player you can recall playing against in Minnesota basketball and why?
“I would have to say McKinley Wright. He is so quick, and I’ve always wanted to learn how he does that quick in and out pull up, really tough player.”
Who is your biggest rival and what about them makes the rivalry both heated and memorable?
“Probably Hopkins. Because of the history and how good they have been in the past. But also I would say all of the lake conference teams. They are all really good teams and we have grown up playing them our whole lives which makes the games really fun.”
Who is your favorite basketball player in the world and why?
“Not sure I have a single favorite player, but the whole Timberwolves starting lineup is pretty sweet. NBA champions 2018 (maybe sooner).”
All basketball players love gear. What brand of gear or type of gear are you partial to?
“I’ve always been about Nike, but I’ve tried some Under Armour before too.”
What is your favorite venue to play basketball in that you’ve played in?
“Home court is always fun because the most of your buddies show up to cheer you on, but I also have always like playing at Edina.”
What team that isn’t on your schedule in Minnesota would you most like to play and why?
“Browerville, Melrose, or Alexandria. I think it would be fun to play against some of my AAU teammates from last summer.”
Explain the relationship varsity players have at your school with youth players?
“Every summer we have a basketball camp the players coach and whenever we see kids that play basketball or were at the camp it’s always really fun to stop and talk to them for a little while.”
Best coaching advice you’ve received is what and who was it from?
“Have a short memory” – Coach Schnettler
Who is your basketball influence?
“I would say my teammates, my dad, and Coach (Bryan Schnettler). Everyday I look forward to playing with my teammates because they make basketball fun. My dad has always been there for me and helped me improve on my game for as long as I can remember. And Coach Schnettler has been there too, helping me become the best player I can be.”
