Prince filled up the stat sheet last season at Chanhassen High School, averaging 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Storm and he showed off his versatility again over the spring and summer playing grassroots with Minnesota Fury.
Prince has a number of local schools recruiting him including several in the MIAC like Hamline, St. Mary’s, St. Thomas and Augsburg.
At 6-foot-1, Prince isn’t a true point guard. He’s not really a true shooting guard either. Trying to assign him a position is looking at things too narrowly because he can help a team win by doing so many different things.
“I’m 6-foot-1 but I can play one through four on my high school team,” said Prince. “I pass the ball well. I’m not just a shooter or just a passer, I feel like I do a lot of things pretty well. Nothing too spectacular, I’m not a pure scorer or a pure shooter; I do a lot of things to help my team.”
As far this upcoming Winter, Prince thinks the Storm could be much improved from a 6-20 2015-16 campaign.
“I can’t wait for basketball season,” said Prince. “Starting fall league pretty quick here. I think that we’ll be pretty good. Last year we had a smaller senior class. We have a lot of returning players back to play this year. We’ve been playing together since the middle school days so we’ve got a lot of chemistry and good depth.”
