Warwick averaged 14 points, three rebounds and four assists a year ago and teamed up with Bryce Irsfeld to form maybe the best backcourt in Class A and with both guys back, the Tigers are expecting big things this year.
“We should be pretty good,” said Warwick. “We bring back our top three scorers. Bryce is one of the best players in Class A obviously so it should be a fun year. I’m really excited. We’re hoping to make a big run.”
Warwick is a guy who excels at breaking down defense and getting into the paint.
“I like to get into the lane and finish at the rim,” said Warwick. “I’m a slasher. I’ve worked on improving my jump shot over the summer and I’ve worked on gaining more muscle so that I can handle a bunch of contact in the paint.”
Warwick’s got several local colleges interested in him as well.
“It’s going well,” said Warwick of his recruitment. “I’ve been in contact with several schools. The schools most in contact with me have been Bethany Lutheran and Northwestern St. Paul and I plan on visiting both schools soon. Hopefully sometime after football in the coming weeks.”
Warwick said he’s planning on playing out his senior season to see if more schools show interest in him as well and with the season the Tigers could have and the opportunities that he’ll have playing next to guys like Irsfeld, it could be a special season.
