Grussing averaged about 15 points, four rebounds and four assists while playing strong defense in his junior season at MACCRAY and got a lot of exposure in the AAU season as well. He said the schools recruiting him the most have been St. Scholastica, Jamestown and Crown College.
The MACCRAY Wolverines were the definition of streaky a year ago, winning three games to start the year and four after a 12 game losing streak before losing four games to end the season. With their three leading scorers back — including Grussing — the Wolverines are hoping this year goes a little more smoothly.
“We have the pieces to beat or compete with everyone on our schedule,” said Grussing. “We bring back three starters and almost [our entire] bench. I think we have a great core.”
Grussing said he hasn’t got any visits set up yet with the schools that are recruiting him but he’s hoping he’s planning on waiting until after the year to make a decision, so he’s got a lot of time. The hope is that in that time, he generates more interest as well.
“I don’t want to make a set decision until after the season,” said Grussing. “I have some high expectations for this season and I’m hoping some schools will notice.”
