Prospect Spotlight: Zach Robeson (2017) *Free*
Zach Robeson | Camden County HS | Class of 2017 | 4.08 GPA
Zach Robeson out of Camden County HS is one of the best shooters in the state. As a junior he averaged 18 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists while burying 100 3 pointers on the season alone. Standing at 5’10”, he mainly plays the point guard position and at times slides over to the off guard spot, providing ample floor spacing and drawing a ton of attention.
As aforementioned, he’s a remarkable shooter. Once he gets into a rhythm, he reels off shot after shot before teams know what hit them. Had several games as a junior where he buried at least 7 triples. He also has an improved handle, enabling him to get the rim more often, drawing fouls and converting at the line. Not a one dimensional player by any means. His court vision has also vastly improved and he’s learned to handle physicality better each year.
Despite being on the smaller side around 5’10” his shooting ability can’t be ignored. As said before, he has an improved handle and body, but he still could use more time working to become more explosive and creating more space against bigger defenders. Defensively, he’s active and gets a fair share of deflections, but at the next level he’ll have to work a bit harder to contain bigger and quicker guards.
Make no mistakes about it, he can flat out get the job done. He is sneaky quick, can handle the ball and shooters like him are not a dime a dozen. At the next level, he will undoubtedly improve the shooting and floor spacing of any team. If you’re a college in need of a guy that can come in and make shots right away, look no further than Robeson.
Currently holds interest from CNU, NC Wesleyan, Randolph-Macon and Averett University.
