The sophomore can handle it in the open floor pushing it up the floor. Also finishes above the rim with monster slams. Many of those opportunities come off what he does on the defensive end with his length and anticipation getting steals. Has the potential to defend multiple positions. Smooth looking jump shot that he hit from both mid-range and three. Has D1 upside.
He spoke about participating in the PrepHoopsIllinois Top 250 Expo.
“It is going great. I am having a great time. A lot of the top players from Illinois and the Midwest came. I am having a great time.”
How was his summer on the circuit with the Rebels?
“We did good. We lost to the good teams. It was real fun.”
Hernandez broke down his game.
“I am a tall guard. I need to work on my three point shot. I think my mid-range game is good. I am sneaky athletic.”
Defensively he has some tools as well.
“I like to move my feet. I like to play defense. I get to slide my feet. With my long arms I can block shots.”
