He averaged 12 points and dished out 5 assists per game last season for the Patriots. Haith explains his game like this, “I am a hardworking point I can see the floor very well and get to where I need to go on the court. I look to set up my teammates and get them involved in the game. I can pressure the ball very well and I make sure I take care of the ball. When I see a mismatch on the court I like to go at.”
Donnie HaithBen Snyder is the head coach at Pinecrest High School and has high praise for Haith who helped the Patriots advance to a 20-7 record overall and a 6-4 mark in the Southeastern 4-A Conference. The Patriots advanced to the second round of the NCHSAA 4-A state playoffs before falling to eventual champion Charlotte Catholic. ” Donnie is a very good point guard who is a three year varsity player. He averaged 14 ppg 4rpg 3apg as a junior. He will be the lone starter returning this season. He is looking to have a great senior year!”
Haith was named to the Southeastern 4-A All-Tournament team and All-Conference last season, his third with the varsity team at Pinecrest. He pumped in a season high 36 points in the Southeastern 4-A conference semi-final loss to Richmond Senior High School and also had season highs of 8 assists on a separate occasion. He shot 40% from behind the three-point line and shot 75% from the free-throw line.
With a big senior season coming his way expect Haith to get some calls from some Division II and III colleges where he could make an impact for four years. He would be well suited at the Division II level.
