Trey is more of a natural shooting guard, but he can also take over the point guard position. A talented three-points shooter, a high basketball IQ, the ability to make the right pass are going to what college coaches’ notice first with Trey. Also throw in a 6’9″ wingspan that allows Wertz to disrupt passing lanes and we see why high major programs are showing interest. He can make plays with the ball in his hands or playing off the ball. He is fundamentally sound, he is a good off-the-dribble scorer and can create for himself.
Trey made a big stride in his recruitment during the NCISAA state championship game when he poured in 25 points, six rebounds and six assists against High Point Christian and now Kentucky freshman Bam Adebayo.
Trey along with Devon Dotson gives Providence Day one of the best back-courts in the state as The Chargers try to repeat as NCISAA 3-A state champs this upcoming season.
