Justin Carpenter to SEMO
Perhaps the most underrated post prospect in the state of Illinois in the class of 2017 is Mt. Carmel’s Justin Carpenter. After taking a pair of official visits the state’s #3 power forward has made his decision to commit to SEMO.
He told us why they were his choice.
“Mainly it was my gut feeling. They had been my top pick for a long time just by talking to the head coach a couple times. Coach Ray really helped me out in a very un-biased way and I immediately had a lot of respect for him. I really fell in love with their weight room as soon as I stepped foot in there.”
At 6’8″ the southern Illinois big man is supremely skilled with the ability to play with his back to the basket where he finishes at a high percentage. Has face up ability in the pick and pop game. Runs the floor tremendously well. Can even handle it a little on occasion. Showed that with Pocket City this summer. Plus passer for a four man.
Carpenter is the #23 overall prospect in the class of 2017 and #3 power forward.
