Jimmy Sotos to Bucknell
One of the top stock risers from the spring and summer travel team circuit Conant 2017 point guard Jimmy Sotos has informed PrepHoopsIllinois of his commitment to Bucknell on Monday. He told us why they were his choice.
“It was the best fit for academics and basketball. I’ll have the opportunity make an impact from Day 1 and get to the NCAA tournament.”
The guard spoke about his relationship with his future coaching staff and the fit in their system.
“I have a good relationship with them and they believe in me as a player and believe in my goals to play ball after college as well. They’re committed to player development which is big for me. Also I feel like their style of play is perfect for me with all the ball screens.”
Sotos had a monster spring and summer for Young Legends. When you look at what makes Sotos a quality mid-major prospect it starts with his toughness and competitiveness. He is a high IQ guard that makes crisp passes in the half court and has his head up in the open floor looking to find teammates. Plus shooter from three at the lead guard position. He is particularly effective moving without the ball to get open and connecting from deep.
The Bucknell commit ranks as the #12 overall prospect in the 2017 class and #3 point guard in Illinois.
