The 2017 class is one of the more loaded classes Indiana has had in a while and the depth is great, from top to bottom. The talent we have in tomorrow will be looking to get the fall and winter off on the right foot.
Daulton Blackwell – 6’5 – Mitchell (IN)
Blackwell has been one of the more intriguing players in the class due to his size and potential. He’s a guy that really does well in spurts and when on, he’s going to light it up from distance. Want to see how the consistency is coming along and if he has added any new tricks to his game.
Conner Brens – 6’6 – Plainfield (IN)
Brens was a hot name this summer as small school programs were looking for their perfect fit at the low post. Brens frame made coaches interested him and his game seemed to step up to a new level. He will be one to watch on Saturday.
Tim Leavell – 6’1 – Marion (IN)
Leavell really came out of nowhere this spring as he was making plays left and right for Indiana Elite Magic. The combo guard is crafty with the ball in his hand but at the same time he’s one of the better shooting guards. He’ll bring the range on Saturday for sure.
Deon Moore – 6’1 – Gary Roosevelt (IN)
Moore was a guy I didn’t get to see this summer but loved him during the high school season. His size at the point, along with his length, make him a potential steal for a team as his recruitment has yet to take off. A good showing tomorrow could go a long way.
Aaron Shank – 6’6 – Hamilton Southeastern (IN)
Shank really surprised people this summer as he had the height, but not the ideal strength on his frame. However, he played stronger and tougher than most thought and was able to make plays as a face-up forward. He’ll add strength in college but for now he will be a post player to focus on.
Cameron Simmons – 6’4 – Traders Point Christian (IN)
Simmons is a name that isn’t brought up a ton but he’s one of the guys people should be giving more focus to. He’s really tall and yes, still a point guard prospect. He’s got a capable pull-up jumper and isn’t too bad creating in the lane. Should have eyes on him Saturday.
