Top 250 Expo: Freshmen Standouts
There were many talented freshmen at the Top 150 Expo last weekend in Minneapolis? NHR gives you some of the names today.
We already listed Austin Andrews of Eden Prairie, Dain Dainja of Park Center, Dylan DeChampeau of Greenway, David Ijadimboa of Park Center, Tate Machacek of Eastview, Cooper Olson of Chaplin Park, and DT Fierson of Park Center this week. They are some of the better frosh in the state. Here are some others from the event.
Charlie DuBois/Blake Berg/Tyler Terhark (West Fargo Sheyenne). Threeguards from North Dakota that came down to Minnesota and showed well against good athletes. Three Mustangs that put themselves on the PHD radar while in Minnesota.
Connor Christensen (6-5, Eden Prairie). Andrews isn’t the only EP freshman big who has been well coached and has a head start on others. Connor also stood out at times with his collections off the glass and low post finishes.
Steven Crowl (6-4, Eastview). There is a lot of talk about the talent in the Eastview program right now especially the freshman. Tate Machacek was the first to step forward and Crowl is another to watch.
Nathan Heise (5-10, Lake City). Lake City is not going anyplace as a program. They will be better than expected this season and the skilled Heise showed promise against older players at the combine.
Zach Lea (5-10, Chaska). Zach was a guy that made a play in the open run, I would like down and catch his name and then do it over again, then again. A steady player that made the right reads.
Colin Meade (6-5, Rochester Lourdes). Very good size for a player his age with a great feel around the basket. His footwork was excellent and he was quick to release off the glass. Moved well from block to black in the drills.
Amir Whitlock (5-8, Park Center). A heady point guard who usually made the right play each time down the floor. Also has extensive range to his touch. Father played at Minnesota and St. Cloud State.
Tanner Ziegenhagen (5-7, Litchfield). Talk about a matured game at point and a tough player, Tanner went at space heavily and did it with a purpose every time. A Dragon who could see early time.
