“Some of the better experiences of AAU were coming together as a team to get some wins we shouldn’t and getting to meet some cool guys,” Carlson explained.
“AAU by itself didn’t really improve me, but showed me how much harder I and to work to get where I wanted.”
Carlson is a 6-foot-3 wing from Brookings who is a part of a senior class that has big expectations. Carlson, Devin Coughlin, Josh Mohs, and Carter Holm are all back for another run, the run they have been waiting for.
“The last three years being well under .500 has made it seem we can only hope for above or at,” Brennan explained. “The league is overall going to be good, so I hope we compete in all games and can pull out wins.
“We need to create a sense of urgency, so it’s not oh next game we got it. We are a lot better as a team then individually.”
The time spent with the Schoolers has NAIA teams looking at Carlson close.
“Most local division two NAIA schools are showing interest,” said Carlson. “Mount Marty and Dakota Wesleyan with the most.”
Brennan has one visit scheduled and another could be set soon.
“I’m going to Mount Marty during the fall. And I’m (about) to schedule a time with DWU. I’ve visited United State Air Force Academy for possibly non sport reasons or if invited to play I would.”
