Jacob gave his team an outstanding 17 points and 12 rebounds a game and could be on the verge of even bigger things.
This past spring and summer Jacob played for the Crossfire second squad that finished with an 18-20 record and was ranked 19th in the state. It was a fantastic four months for Streit who got to play with a high school teammate as well.
“Some of my favorite experiences were playing with friends especially Reese Jansen (a six foot guard),” said Streit.
“I met many new great people. It was also very competitive. It made me better by giving me many different situations and I got to play against a lot of good competition which made me better.”
Eden Valley-Watkins won 23 of their 27 games last year and this was the season that everything that has been pointing to.
“Me and my friends work out and put up shots for two hours combined each morning,” said Streit. “Last year we were the first conference champs at our school in 12 years, and having another 20 win season was memorable.”
Streit is also an excellent football player so he will have to choose which sport to play. Right now two schools are showing the most interest and based on the way Jacob has played, a lot more should be.
“St. Johns University and Minnesota-Morris in basketball are showing the most interest, and Northern State and Minnesota State-Moorhead in football,” Jacob said.
“I want to visit Morris and SJU in the near future and also Jamestown has sent me a questionnaire and if they show interest I would visit there.
“I also would like to visit Northern State and Minnesota-Duluth but they have not contacted me yet.”
