Kent State was the first to offer in the spring, and then Miami of Ohio was next to offer after a July tournament in Las Vegas.
Plenty of other schools — mid to high-major — have expressed interest in the talented junior of late.
“I have a lot of schools interested; Tulsa, Penn State, UNLV, Notre Dame, Xavier is really interested, Youngstown State. I would say Xavier might be the next to offer, they’ve been talking to my coach a lot and showing a lot of interest,” said Guess.
“I’m just hoping to get to a high-major D1 school. And I’m just going to keep working hard so I can give them a reason to come out and see me.”
A true team-first guy, Guess spent most of our conversation discussing ways he was going to get his team involved during his junior season this winter.
“It’s just really getting my team involved and just making plays. I’m a slasher, but a passer too, said Guess, who says he averaged 22.5 points and 5 rebounds per game last season with the Red Raiders.
“It’s going to be different this year, a different environment. I just want to come in and help my team as much as I can, and help get them the ball.”
