The 6-foot-2 guard from Solen High School joined his high school teammate on the ECI team (Montel Carlow) and both had a great experience playing for Coach Andy Nagel.
“Probably the best experience I gained was playing Minnesota Fury which really helped improve my game a lot,” said Uses Arrow. “Playing Fury helped me realize what I need to improve on and what I need to add to my game to make me a better basketball player.
“AAU taught me to work hard on ever offensive and defensive possession, to grab every rebound, dive after every loose ball that comes your way.
“It also taught me to stay in shape because you aren’t playing against a team that’s going to roll over and let you win the game, every team has the same goal and that’s to win and every team that you play is good, you might be playing against one of their states best players and you want that challenge when you go to AAU tournaments, you want to play the best teams and the best players because that’s what gets you noticed by colleges.”
With Carlow, junior Jayce Archambault, and Uses Arrow the Solen team has huge expectations for next year.
“My personal goal is to lead my team to state, for the past two years we lost to Shiloh Christian in the region championship game and hopefully this year we finally get over that hump and make it to state,” Brayden said.
“When we do make it to state then my next goal is to make it to the state title game and bring home that championship trophy. Our team is very small and we use our quickness, outside shooting and driving ability to our advantage.
“The team is able to play all 5 spots on the floor which is very good also but we need to improve on rebounding and defense since we have a smaller team, if we improve on those two things then we will definitely make it to state.”
One school is already hoping to bring in Brayden for next season.
“Lake Region State is probably the one school that’s showing the most interest in me,” said Brayden. “Nothing really planned and I would like to visit Augustana University and Minot State University.”
