The two best players in the gym for the event that featured seniors all the way down to incoming freshman were 2019 guard Caleb Mills of Asheville Christian Academy in Asheville, North Carolina and 2017 guard Chae Johnson of Independence High School in Charlotte. Both guards scored at will from all over the floor, rebounded well, showed great leadership and are the 2016 PrepHoopsNC Top 250 co-MVP’s.
Chae Johnson had a great day. Athletic. College ready body, good shooter, attacks the floor all game, fundamentally sound.
2018 guard Corey Rutherford of Atkins High School in Winston-Salem shot the ball great all day. He is a big-time threat from anywhere on the floor. Played this summer with Team Winston.
2017 Austin Nelson of North Henderson HS was good today. Long, athletic wing, can play the 1-4 position. Good handle, strong defensively. Should have big season.
2018 Ricky Council III was solid all day. Under control, high basketball IQ, good shooter, makes the right play consistently.
2020 Luke Stankavage is a basketball player, attacks constantly, good defender, makes the right plays, strong with the ball. Has bright future.
2020 Myles Tate was impressive today, quick first step, a natural scorer, really good at drawing defense to the paint where he can score or dish.
Isaiah Tatum of Cape Fear Christian was impressive all day. Good finisher, quick, strong, good vision, above average passer, nice handle.
Alex Wallace of TC Roberson was steady all day today. Athletic, smart, high basketball IQ, has a good handle, can finish with either hand.
2020 wing CJ Plantin of Pendleton High School (SC) was impressive. Athletic, long and can finish at the rim. Can put it on the floor and can crash the boards.
6’7 2018 Chris Clayton is a good one. Runs the floor well, active on both ends, gets rebounds, can finish strong at the rim. A lot of upside.
2019 Ricky Council IV was good today. Smooth, doesn’t make a bad play, good shooter, smart basketball IQ, will be fun to watch progress.
2019 Raishaun Brown was very good today. Plays best in transition, can finish, smart, knows how to score the ball or make the right pass.
Another impressive showing for 2019 Devin Elliot of Carolina Day. Strong guard, with a good handle, knows the game, sees the whole court.
De’Angelo Elliot is good every time I see him. Big body, 6’3 frame, plays all over the floor, rebounds, blocks shots, good shooter from 3.
Team Heat Elite 2020’sPrepHoopsNC #1 ranked 2020 player, Jalen Cone is a stud, 5’9, jumps out of the building. Has good court vision, plays good defense, very athletic. Impressive day overall.
PrepHoopsNC #6 2020 player, Callin Randolph (Team Heat Elite) is a shooter. Great court vision. Above average passer, under control. Makes basketball plays.
Impressed with Abra Allen today at @PrepHoopsNC Top 250. Strong finisher, good control with contact, has a high basketball IQ.
Tyler McKinney had a really impressive camp. He was attacking the paint all day, making the right passes, has great court vision.
