PrepHoops.com discussed the progress of Moreno with his mother, Sarah Moreno last week.
“We did Super Sophomore (Camp) and did really good there,” said Mrs. Moreno. “I think that is the only camp they went to, because they were busy with AAU every weekend.”
Michael ran with Indiana Elite, a sparkling AAU program based in Indianapolis. Successful veterans include: Yogi Ferrell, Eric Gordon, Mason Plumlee, Cody Zeller, Marshall Plumlee, D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera, and more.
“He played with Indiana Elite,” said Mrs. Moreno. “It went excellent. Michael played really, really well. He averaged double-doubles all summer. I don’t know the exact numbers.”
Both individually and collectively Moreno and friends glittered.
“They did really well,” said Mrs. Moreno. “They won the tournament in Vegas. They won the gauntlet and they won it in Dallas. He was playing 15u.”
Incidently, PrepHoopsKY featured Spencer back in August. Read.
Recruiting
The Moreno family is reciprocating interest with visits.
“Michael has an offer from Bradley (University),” said Mrs. Moreno. “He went up there a couple weekend ago. We go to Indiana this weekend (9/10). We got to Tennessee in two weekends (9/17).
A surefire D1 player, Moreno is garnering interest and offers from all levels.
“He has an offer from a Division II school, Lane College, in Jackson, Tennessee,” said Mrs. Moreno.
Though Bradley offered first, they will be one of 20+ in a year’s time. Michael Moreno will be a top target in the 2019 class.
