With the departure of their starting guards of last year, and a new coach leading the way, the question of who would run the PG spot for Northwood Temple was bounced around quite a bit. With Immanuel Bates and Mike Hueitt Jr. transferring in, we already knew that they would have a good amount of surrounding talent if they could find a good PG. Well folks after stopping in to see the Northwood Temple open gym a few weeks back we clearly got our answer and his name is Jeremiah Morris. This young man transferred in from the western side of the country, and will now have the keys to the car for a team that will compete against some top talent in the NCISAA 1A division.
What does he bring to Northwood Temple?
Every shooter needs a player to pass him the ball in the right spots, and every big needs a player to feed him inside, and that’s what Jeremiah can do for the Northwood Temple Eagles. He is hands down one of the fastest players that I’ve seen as far as end to end speed goes, being that he is a shorter player in stature it’s always a positive to have that mixture of speed and strength. He is a gifted scorer that can knock down shots from outside, as well as getting inside and finishing with smooth pull up jump shots. Throughout the open gym session he caught defenders off guard quite a bit with how quick he could get his shot off and how well he uses the floater. The key for Jeremiah will be to play at different speed so that his squad can be on one accord with him, but for college coaches that love an up-tempo guard? Jeremiah Morris is definitely the guy you want to keep a close eye on, he’s already collected multiple D1 and D2 offers so it will be interesting to see how his recruitment turns out.
