With guys like Paul Scruggs, Kris Wilkes, and Zach Gunn, expectations are bound to be high and they seemed to meet them. They didn’t go as far in the UA Finals as they probably would have hoped to but overall this group showcased some of the top talent. It is a deep group with guys down the list that had their moments. Butler commit Cooper Neese was very consistent, Tra Landers stepped up at the point, and Emmanuel Little started to takes steps in his games. Really good summer from this group, one of the best this state had.
Best Player: The best player on this team and the best player in the state was North Central’s Kris Wilkes. Wilkes was dominant yet again as he has been since he was a freshman. Being 6’7 allows him to do quite a few things but he’s best when he’s able to handle the ball in the open floor and make plays. So much stronger than he looks and a legit wing player that has an attacking mindset. Elite player nationally and he showed that all summer long.
Players To Watch: This team is full of known commodities but one that could use more attention and likely will get it this winter is North Central’s Emmanuel Little. The 6’6 forward is a rugged player with a pretty good motor although the consistency is the aspect of his game that could really help boost his stock. Rebounds really well and not a guy you need to run a lot of plays for. As he goes into the fall and winter, he’s going to be the guy on this roster that could see his stock rise.
