“I can’t imagine going anywhere else to play for the next 4 years,” Deaton said of his commitment to Grace College. “It’s a great place and I love everything about it.”
Deaton had a pair of offers in hand from Grace and Indiana Tech along with a list of non-DI programs showing heavy interest. However, Grace seemed to have won him over after being the first program to official offer him this past July.
Haden had a huge summer with Grassroots Indiana 2017 Blue. The group saw quite a bit of success winning tournaments and being able to compete with most shoe sponsored programs. Deaton was a key contributor, especially in July where he blossomed and started to take over stretches of games. His shooting percentage saw an uptick and he seemed to be as active as every in the paint where he was rebounding at a high rate and scoring on drives. This was the best he had played in his career and colleges took notice.
Deaton is the 11th player from the class of 2017 to commit in the state of Indiana. He’s also the second player committed from Grassroots Indiana 2017 Blue.
