1. Marques Wilson Edmond North 6’3
Wilson made the move to the two guard spot last season at Edmond North and the move worked perfectly. Edmond North Head Coach Terry Evans found the best possible position for Wilson on the hardwood. Wilson uses his size, strength and shooting talents to hurt opponents with the rock in his hands. Last season Wilson shot the ball fantastic from three-point range. Wilson holds several Division I offers and is currently planning his visits.
2. Mason Webb Bishop McGuinness 6’4
Webb is easily the most overlooked shooting guard on this list. This summer Webb came off the bench for Oklahoma Run PWP on the Under Armour Circuit. Webb was very productive in his time on the floor shooting the ball at an elite level from three-point range. On the Wing Webb is full of surprises. One of the thing that surprises people the first time they watch Webb is his sneaky athleticism. Webb has an extremely high basketball IQ. The motor of Webb allows him to be a good rebounder from the two guard spot. Webb has several Division II offers with interest from some Division I programs, but no Division I offers at the moment.
3. Brewster Peacock Verdigris 6’3
Peacock is a player that coaches want the ball in the hands of when the game is one the line. He is a clutch two guard with good size and the ability to put the ball in the basket. Last year Peacock brought home a State Championship to Verdigris with his scoring skills. Peacock has a solid handle to go along with his deadly jumper. The length of Peacock allows him to be a formidable defender. The projection of Peacock is to the JUCO or Division II level. If Peacock heads to JUCO he could turn into a Division I prospect.
4. Kobe Rose Tulsa Memorial 6’3
Rose is an athletic lefty with a mean streak on the court. At Tulsa Memorial Rose has developed into a budding star in Class 5A. Opponents struggle to keep Rose in front of them. He is not the quickest, but has a nice first step that allows him to get distance from his defender. The mid-range shot is Rose’s bread and butter. He has improved his three-point shot, which has made defenders respect his jumper. Rose has always been able to get to the basket with ease. Rose could be a great JUCO prospect that has the chance to be at the Division I level after two years. Division II schools and JUCO’s will come hard at Rose.
5. George Price Putnam City West 6’2
Many have not seen Price due to him playing at Harding Prep over the first three years of his high school career, but that is about to change. This year Price made the switch to Class 6A moving to the reigning champions, Putnam City West. Price is an elite scorer with a knack for putting the basketball in the cup in all three phases of the game. Price will have a chance to prove his doubters wrong this year. He will be a vital piece in the success this year at Putnam City West.
6. Brantly Thompson Tuttle 6’4
Thompson made the Small Forward list, but is probably best at playing at the two. This summer Thompson proved he can shoot there three-point shot efficiently shooting over 40% from deep. Another area Thompson has improved upon is his ball handling skills and quickness. Thompson is not the fastest, which makes it tough for him to guard quick two guards. Using his high basketball IQ Thompson takes the best angles and is able to not be a defensive liability. Thompson projects to the Division II level. OBU offered Thompson first several offers followed after his big summer.
7. Romio Harvey Lawton Ike 6’2
Harvey is an intriguing two guard out of Lawton Ike. This summer Harvey played for the Oklahoma Wolfpack traveling the country to play against high level programs. Harvey has interest from several Division II schools and could also take the JUCO route. Harvey is best at creating with the ball in his hands. This year at Lawton Ike Harvey will be the go to guy for the first time in his high school career.
8. Chris Potts Putnam City West 6’2
Potts will likely take the football route, but is one of the most clutch shooters in the state. He burst onto the scene two summers ago with BTR. Potts has steadily improved over the past two seasons. In the State Championship game Potts delivered three after three after three leading the Patriots to the Class 6A crown. If Potts wants to purse basketball he will have opportunities.
9. Greyden Steinmetz Fort Cobb 6’3
Steinmetz is the definition of a volume shooter from three-point range. When Steinmetz gets hot from three-point range he is one of the most dangerous shooters in Oklahoma. Another thing to point out is it does not take much for him to catch fire. Many overlook Steinmetz because he plays at Class A Fort Cobb, but the truth of the matter is he could play at a high level in any Class in Oklahoma. Steinmetz projects to the Division II level. JUCO could be a route for Steinmetz.
10. Trenton Crow Rejoice Christian 6’3
Crow is a three-point sniper from the outside. On the Wing as a catch and shoot player Crow excels. One area Crow improved this summer was his ball handling skills in traffic. If Crow can continue to improve his ball handling skills and drive to the basket he can take his game to the next level. Crow looks to have a huge year at Rejoice Christian. He won the Tulsa World’s Mr. Outside last season. Crow has a couple of Division II and NAIA offers on the table.
