As the season winds down and many players transition from AAU to their high school squads, we’ll be taking a look back at some of the players who have raised their stock the most since last high school season. Below, we highlight some of the summer’s biggest class of 2020 standouts in our watch list.
Hunter Dickinson | DeMatha
Highly touted 6-foot-11 center Hunter Dickinson showed flashes of his significant ceiling throughout the summer. Dickinson is a bruiser who sets big screens and is adept at sealing off his man on the low block. The skilled lefty has a nice arsenal of moves on the low block, but also sets solid screens and can even step out and hit the three. Look for Dickinson to see plenty of minutes for the Stags during his debut season in the WCAC.
Che Evans | Dulaney
We’ve seen enough of Che Evans this summer to know that he’s the real deal. The 6-foot-6 guard is a fierce competitor who can do just about everything on the court. Look for Evans to step in immediately and play a major role for Dulaney this winter.
Justin Lewis | Calvert Hall
At 6-foot-8, there isn’t much we haven’t seen Justin Lewis do on the floor. Whether it’s his ability to consistently stretch the floor, rebound out of his area, or finish in traffic, Lewis has demonstrated that he is capable of it all.
Montez McNeil | Calvert Hall
Joining Lewis in the frontcourt at Calvert Hall this season will be Montez McNeil. At around 6-foot-5, McNeil is a hard working post player who has the ability to dominate the paint at times.
Myles Stute | Gonzaga
Sharpshooting 6-foot-6 wing Myles Stute will look to provide a consistent deep threat off the bench for the Eagles this season. Stute has proven this summer, both with Team Takeover and Gonzaga, that he poses a serious threat from three point range if left unattended to.
Earl Timberlake | Rock Creek Christian
Earl Timberlake has a chance to be one of the biggest breakout performers on this list. The long-limbed lefty is a slasher on the wing who plays with a great motor. Timberlake possesses very good defensive potential given his solid instincts in conjunction with his big time athleticism.
Jordan Toles | St. Frances
With the departure of Co-BCL Player of the Year Daquan Bracey, Jordan Toles has some big shoes to fill at the lead guard spot. Following a strong summer with Team Melo, it appears Toles is ready to step in right away and play a key role for St. Frances.
Terrance Williams | Gonzaga
Terrance Williams brings additional size and skill to the front court at Gonzaga. The 6-foot-6 freshman is a good athlete who will rebound and score it inside and out. Williams might not see huge minutes right out of the gate, but his usage rates could increase during the latter part of the season.
