Hanson was also the key scorer for the Wear Out the Net program that won 30 plus games this season.
“The best experience from playing for WOTN would be growing together as a team and the relationships that I built with my team and coaches,” Hanson told NHR.
“AAU made me a much better ball player on multiple levels. Playing against some of the best players in Minnesota and surrounding states was a great experience.
“Playing against new talents is always great exposure and I learned how to adapt to different situations and defenses better. AAU ball also taught me how to be more confident.
“I will be a big part of my high school team’s offense this year so I needed that confidence boost that AAU and WOTN provided.”
New Prague was a 20 game winner last year which was more than people expected. They expect to be 20-win good this year as well.
“We’ve already begun to get almost everyone into the gym and practicing together,” Hanson said. “We had a great summer of improvement and hard work and we are looking to continue that going into the fall.
“We’ve only got a few football players but they’ll be getting into the gym and getting shots up as often as they can. For everyone who isn’t in football we will be lifting together this fall until the season starts.
“I plan on going to these practices and lifting sessions as much as possible, getting myself physically and mentally prepared for my last season as a Trojan.”
Zach is currently hearing from a strong amount of MIAC and NAIA programs.
“Saint John’s has been in contact with me the most. NAIA schools who have been talking to me are Jamestown, Valley City State, Graceland, and recently Briar Cliff. Division three schools who are taking an interest in me are Hamline, Augsburg, Gustavus and UW-Eau Claire.”
Hanson has one visit set and is planning others.
“I’ll be at Jamestown the 10th of September and Graceland the 1st of October,” Zach said. “I’m still in the works of setting up visits for Valley City State and UW-Eau Claire. I’d also like to go visit Briar Cliff as well.”
