Nelson was a versatile guard for not just the Northern Cass Jags but also for the ECI Prospects that won 20 games April through mid-July.
“Some of my top ECI experiences were playing in Milwaukee and just seeing a whole different level of competition,” Logan said.
“My best experience was just playing with a bunch of new guys and learning how to play with them and how every team in the ECI program supported each other.
“ECI made me a better basketball player because it taught me I had to play better defense, bring energy every play, and it taught me too have confidence in myself every game I played in. University of Mary offered me a scholarship recently too which was exciting!”
The Marauders are on a roll right now bringing in talent getting commitments from top ten North Dakota talents Wyatt Carr, Lucas Mayer, and Justin Engg as well as top 30 prospect in Minnesota Zac Olsen.
U of Mary also offered Nelson recently.
“I’m hearing the most from University of Mary, Jamestown, and Valley City State,” said Nelson. “I visited Mary recently and then they offered.
“I am planning visits at Jamestown and Valley City has also been talking about taking a visit. I would like to visit Minnesota State-Moorhead if the opportunity presented itself.”
Then of course there is also a huge senior season of basketball. The Jags won 20 games including wins over Kermare and Grafton/St. Thomas at the Class B State Tournament.
“My role on the team is getting buckets,” said Nelson. “Whenever my team needs a score my coach tells me to get a bucket. I plan on furthering my overall game and trying to be a leader to the group of guys I’m playing with.
“Our goal is to get back to the state tournament. I work hard everyday to better my skills so my confidence can grow.”
