“My top experience was definitely playing with my new Fury family and being able to build a relationship with that whole program,” Jordan said. “But basketball wise it was at the Sanford pentagon against Omaha Crusaders where I had 32 points.
“It was a fun game to play in and be a part of. Also in Vegas when we played Giving Back (France) and I had 26 on a top guy in the country Lamine Diane, in front of a lot of coaches.
“Playing with the Fury made me a much better player, my jump shot became consistent in July, my defensive intensity and my IQ for the game grew while playing against top level guys even though I’m not on the Nike circuit anymore, and still being able to produce and show the country that I can compete with anyone.”
Horn’s focus is now on the Tartan Titans and getting his team back to the state tournament. Jordan had a taste of state when he was an underclassmen and wants to have that experience again. Horn led Tartan to wins over Hopkins and Cretin-Derham Hall at the Breakdown State Tournament last week,
“Right after the AAU season ended I obviously played in a couple high school events, but then I took ten days off to relax and rest my mind and body,” Jordan said. “Now I’m just getting back in the gym and starting next week. I get back to lifting every morning with my coach at about 615 and coach K brings in a former Tartan guy and he works us out in the fall up until the season starts.”
Horn also has his future in mind as he’s thinking about college basketball.
“I have three offers, South Dakota, Western Carolina and New Hampshire and I heard from South Dakota (assistant) about a week ago and Western Carolina (assistant) as well and New Hampshire talks to me almost every day whether it’s their head coach or associate head coach.
“Others who have shown interest and contacted me were Pepperdine, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Drake, and University of Nebraska Omaha.”
Jordan has set one official visit already.
“I would like to visit those who have offered and I only have one visit scheduled September 9-11 for New Hampshire. I’ve been waiting to see what else comes in throughout August, if anyone else is going to reach out or extend an offer. Then in September-October schedule more.”
Horn scored 16.7 points per game for Tartan as a junior.
