“Lincoln Memorial University, Monmouth, Ohio, Longwood and Maryland Eastern Shore have all been showing interest. And that’s pretty much it right now,” said Prater.
“Lincoln Memorial and Monmouth have called me. I feel like they have shown the most interest.”
The talented senior point guard — PHOH’s 62nd-ranked 2017 — went on to define his playing style.
“I have some speed and a nice mid-range game all-around, and I can hit the 3, and I can pass it well. I need to work on making sure I see everything on the floor, and make sure I’m able to get everyone on the floor where they need to be,” said Prater, who recently wrapped up his 17U season with All Ohio Black.
“I was just a leader on the floor, and made sure guys didn’t take plays off. My role was just to be a leader all the time.”
This winter will be his fourth year starting with the varsity at Whitehall-Yearling. And though his role will be a lot the same this season, it’s his leadership that he’ll look to focus on most during his senior season.
“My role won’t be too much different from last year, it’ll be a lot the same. I’ll just need to be more vocal on the court, and make sure I’m a leader on the team that the young guys coming in can look up to,” said Prater.
As far as his recruitment is concerned?
“I just hope everything comes together and falls into place this year,” he said.
