“I just moved down to Zanesville actually a couple days ago … I like the team, and the coach. He’s a good coach, knows what he’s talking about,” Brooks-Harris said.
The Zanesville Blue Devils are gaining a versatile prospect who was Honorable Mention in the Division 2 Central District as a sophomore.
Ashland and West Virginia State recently expressed interest along with an in-state D-I.
“I didn’t even notice but Kent State was watching me too. They just sent me a letter the other day. And my mom sent me a picture of it. They enjoyed watching me play in the summer and are coming to watch me play in the fall,” Brooks-Harris said.
It’s hard to pin-down Brooks-Harris to a specific role just yet. That will likely be a decision made at whichever program lands him in a few years. At 6’6”, he can already shoot, pass, and dribble. While not completely polished yet, the skills, size, and athleticism, are promising for scouts.
How does Brooks-Harris describe his game?
“Inside and outside game. Can bring the ball up if needs to. And I trust my teammates.”
He also added that he can defend every position outside of point guard.
What has he been focusing on improving lately?
“My jumper on the move. Just my regular three-point shot overall. And my ball-handling skills.”
With the transition in location this summer, Brooks-Harris has been working with his father at local parks and anywhere they can find a hoop. Family was a consistent theme during the conversation with PHO, a subject he spoke enthusiastically on. The genetics are strong, as his father is 6’5” and his mother stands 6’2”. He also has a sister that is a D-I soccer prospect.
The rising junior is a prospect whose recruitment is likely to pick up traction over the next two years. He plans on sticking with the Hidden Gems program next summer.
