Thompson averaged 13.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game on 45% shooting from behind the arc. The great play of Thompson has landed him offers from Oklahoma Baptist, St. Edwards and John Brown University.
Thompson is receiving interest from other schools as well. He is a 6’4 tough crafty Wing that has improved his ball handling skills allowing him to play at the two or three. Thompson is still up in the air on a few things.
“I have considered signing early, but I’m not positive,” Thompson said.
Thompson is looking forward to visiting schools this fall. When he visits each school Thompson keeps in mind what he is looking for in a program.
“I am looking for a great academic and athletic school,” Thompson said. “I want to fit in with the players and how they play the game. I really want to go somewhere that I will have a bond with the coaches and have a ton of success on the court and off of it.”
As his senior year at Tuttle approaches Thompson has high goals for his squad. Tuttle missed the state tournament last year after making a deep run the previous year. Leadership is an area Thompson is focusing on leading into the season.
“My goals for this team is to lead my team to the best of my ability,” Thompson said. “Have great games consistently and win as many games as we can. To praise God in everything I do.”
Thompson recently was ranked as the #6 Shooting Guard in the 2017 Oklahoma Class. For the latest on the recruitment of Thompson stay with Prep Hoops Oklahoma.
