It might not necessarily always be the highest rated prospect in the program either although it very well could be.
In the latest edition we hand out the Mercury Elite Program MVP award. This was close to a slam dunk as the winner is West Chicago 2017 point guard Tai Bibbs.
Bibbs put his name on the radar across the state last July as he played well for Mercury Elite on both the 16U and 17U levels. That was followed by a big junior campaign where he teamed with his brother on West Chicago to give the school one of its best years in school history. Bibbs had a lot of hype coming into the spring and he played well the first two months on the NY2LA circuit. The long and lanky 6’3” guard has that projectable frame that college coaches love. He has a high basketball IQ and a feel for the game. Best as a distributor setting others up and getting them the ball in positions to succeed. Smooth with the ball in his hands in the open floor weaving in and out of defenders.
Congrats to Tai on winning the Mercury Elite program MVP award!
