It might not necessarily always be the highest rated prospect in the program either although it very well could be.
Hoops4Health 16U had another quality showing on the circuit this spring and summer. They had a trio of prospects that emerged as potential scholarship caliber players at the next level, but it was Romeoville 2018 point guard DeAndre Heckard who stood out above the rest. He wins our Program MVP for Hoops4Health.
Heckard is a 6’2” point guard with broad shoulders and a strong, but athletic build. He was good in the spring with Hoops4Health where he flashed his ability to both score and pass. In July he took it to another level. Heckard was one of the most dominant players we saw during the first July live period. He was a force going downhill and scoring in the paint. Hit jumpers from a variety of spots on the floor while also showing the ability to run a team and get others involved. Potential on the defensive end stood out.
Congrats to DeAndre for winning the Hoops4Health Program MVP!
