Devin Whitelow Talks Winona State Commitment
One of the toughest and best leaders in the state of Illinois made his commitment on Wednesday night. Washington 2017 point guard Devin Whitelow has given his verbal commitment to attend D2 program Winona State. He told us why they were his choice.
“The coaches were just amazing. The players were great as well. The moment I stepped on campus I just felt like it was the right place to go. Playing against top notch competition is something I’m looking forward too.”
How does he see his game fitting in with his new team?
“I feel like I’ll fit right in. They’re losing two point guards so I’ll come in right away and see minutes. I’m pretty good at adjusting.”
We have always been fans of Whitelow. The high IQ point guard from Washington knows how to run a team and is a true leader at the point guard position. He was the program MVP for the Illinois Irish and the one that made everything go for their successful 17U squad. If he was 6’0” he would probably be a D1 recruit, but he showed that he can be an impact D2 player in July playing for the Illinois Irish willing them to wins. Smart and tough lead guard that makes sound decisions with the ball, can hit a pull up jumper, and is a pesky on ball defender.
