They have a number of players worth looking at and they had some games this summer that really stood out. Dre Davis was big in July and put up some gaudy numbers. Cameron Simmons and Cameron Sembly were terrific early on. This group was fun to watch and while they didn’t have a ton of success, they were always a team that was worth a watch each weekend.
Best Player: Traders Point Christian guard Cameron Simmons is a name that any and all DIII programs will be looking into this winter. He’s tall at 6’3 but he’s still a point guard and a pretty good one with a capable jumper. Simmons isn’t a guy, yet, that is going to lead a team in scoring. However, he is a guy that is going to be a matchup problem if and when he does. Sub-6’ guards can’t defend him because he’s just as quick and a lot taller and longer. He’s going to allow teams to play differently and that in and of itself is something that draws the eye.
Players To Watch: Indianapolis Manual guard Cameron Sembly will be one to watch this winter for a number of different reasons. He’s a long, long, gangly kid that has some skill but isn’t too polished yet. He’s the type of guy you look at and know that he has upside. His jumper isn’t too bad but he handles the ball pretty well and his game could go a few different ways. A focus on offense could make him just a wing or he could focus on ball handling and playing tall and be more of a combo guard. Which direction it goes could start to show itself this winter.
