This Indiana Elite Central group was really good all year long and had play makers at every spot on the floor. Led by Reis Thomas and James Franklin, this group consistently was able to win games and make big plays in big games. They had a ton of really good guards in Franklin, Morgan, Hensley, and bigs as well in Applegate, Johnson, and Wiggins. Should the core return next year, this group shouldn’t slow down.
Best Player: Reis Thomas of Brownsburg isn’t a name most know yet but should be in line for some minutes this season and could really step into the spotlight. He’s 6’3 and stocky but he doesn’t really know how to stop playing. He builds up momentum and is smooth and fluid to the rim. He finishes at a high rate and just makes play after play. He might not have the biggest upside but he’s the best player at the moment.
Players To Watch: James Franklin isn’t necessarily a player to watch on this team because if Thomas is 1A, Franklin is 1B. However, he’s a guy to watch in the state for 2019. He already has an IUPUI offer and is one of the better point guard prospects this state has. Seems to move in slow motion and make plays for others with consistency. Cathedral is now without a ton of their talent from last season but Franklin should step into a starting role right away.
