It isn’t likely that anyone in this group is going to be a DI player, but they are all going to play college ball and that is a great thing to say. Built around guards and wings, IE Central has depth and plays more of an uptempo, attacking styler. Tyler Watson and Cam Chadd provide most of the scoring punch they they have plenty of options. York can shoot it, McLain creates driving opportunities, and Combs and Howard give this team a little size.
Best Player: Tyler Watson is the best talent of this group and he’s going to be a big factor in the state this year with Tri-West. He got back to scoring the ball like he had his freshman year. This past season he was more of a facilitator and leader. He’s a capable scoring threat at all levels and once he balances that out, he’s going to take off. He has a big season ahead of him and could help put Tri-West in a position to make a run in 3A this season with the top talent all returning.
Players To Watch: Center Grove guard Nate McLain is among the players I walked away from this summer with high expectations. He proved this past year that he can be a guy that just makes plays. Then while he backed that up this summer, he also showed that he might have more offense in the tank than I thought. Moving into the Fall, he is one of the guys that should start becoming a little more noticed as a college prospect.
