Archambault is an all around player who is asked to play many roles so he added 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 steals per contest, and shot 40 percent from the three point arc.
Mason is one of the few top talents in the upper Midwest that does not spend part of his summer playing AAU basketball so he spent extra time focusing on improving his game in other ways by himself or with area Stevens teammates.
“I’ve been hitting the weights every other day since the summer started, and also I’ve been working on my ball handling and to get better at pick and roll situations,” said Mason. “And finishing at the rim.”
Mason did head out to the Vegas Live event with St. Thomas More High School and surprised many with his outstanding performance in an AAU live period event finishing fourth.
Now his focus is on getting Stevens even higher this winter and that means getting them to the title game. For that to happen it’s all about day by day work.
“In the fall I will do the same stuff I’m doing right now, and with the team we got to be in shape, just work and work every day until the season and during the season also.”
Mason will be a college basketball player although where is not clear. Mason said “he’s not sure” what schools are looking at him but his talent will lend him someplace in college hoops, there is little doubt about that.
