An attribute that will never go unnoticed is hard work. Whether their team is in a close game with a rival, trumping the opponent by 20 plus points or even falling to a team by that margin, head coach’s want to have players on their roster that will give 100 percent effort, 100 percent of the time.
When it comes to hard work and passion for the game of basketball, Dominick Volini (2017) showcases just that whenever he steps onto the hardwood. The devotion that he has propels him to be ranked No. 54 of the top 70 high school players out of the Columbus, Ohio region, by 270 Hoops.
Volini sports the Bishop Ready High School Silver Knight’s uniform in the winter, and runs with the Central Ohio Sting in a couple tournaments through the AAU circuit.
With his 6’5” frame and notable athleticism, Volini is a prime forward who is a leader for the Bishop Ready roster, and will begin to float under some college coach’s radars in the upcoming months.

One school that has had small conversations with Volini is Ohio Northern University; a D-III institution located in Ada, Ohio and participates in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
Volini is a physical force in the post and attacks the rim with authority, but to be a more attractive prospect for the collegiate level, he understands that he needs to expand his game to the perimeter by establishing his 3-point shot and more.
“I am trying to develop a better 3-point shot, and it’s coming along, but it’s still not the best,” Volini said. “Ball handling and driving the ball to the basket is also something I look to improve.”
If he were to add these skills to his arsenal, Volini could have high potential as a small-forward wingman for a solid D-III school.

The Columbus prospect also plays outfield and pitcher for the Bishop Ready baseball squad, proving that he is an all-around athlete. With the skill to play either basketball or baseball, or maybe even both, at the collegiate level, he has still not been able to lean toward either one of the sports, but won’t worry about that decision until next school year.
With his presence being highly important for the Silver Knight’s success, Volini will have a plethora of opportunities to showcase his talents to college coaches who are looking to add an athletic high-potential player to their depth chart.
