Continue ReadingWe are going to start a series of stories for this Fall where we take a look back at past classes to see where former Indiana High School basketball players are in their career. Today with start with the Class of 2012. This was one of the best classes the state of Indiana has seen in some time with names like Gary Harris, Yogi Ferrell, Ronnie Johnson, and many, many others. We start now with some of the players that committed to schools in the Low Majors (1-Bid Leagues):
Brent Calhoun (6’8 – Warren Central) – Committed to IPFW where he sat out his freshman year. He then played the next three seasons and has one season of eligibility remaining.
Donnell Minton (5’11 – Indianapolis Northwest) – Committed to Lamar where he played his first two seasons. He then played at Presentation College (NAIA) for the last season. He has one year remaining of eligibility.
Elijah Ray (6’5 – Bowman Academy) – Committed to IUPUI where he sat out his freshman season for redshirt. He then played in the next two seasons for the Jaguars. He then transferred to Southeastern University (NAIA). He played last season and has one year of eligibility remaining.
J.T. Yoho (6’6 – Eastern Greene) – Committed to Wright State where he played all four seasons for the Raiders.
Joe Reed (6’7 – Center Grove) – Committed to IPFW where he played all four seasons for the Mastadons.
Leke Solanke (6’7 – Marquette Catholic) – Committed to Stetson where he played two seasons. He then transferred to Olivet Nazarene (NAIA) where he played the last season seasons of eligibility.
R.J. Hunter (6’5 – Indianapolis Pike) – Committed to Georgia State where he played three seasons. He entered the 2015 NBA draft where he was drafted 28th overall in the first round by the Boston Celtics.
Ryan Weber (6’5 – Indianapolis Roncalli) – Committed to Youngstown State where he played two seasons. He sat out the 2014-15 season due to transfer to Ball State. He played last season at Ball State and has one year of eligibility remaining.
Stephan Bennett (6’8 – Bowman Academy) – Committed to Robert Morris (PA) where he played his first three years. He then redshirted the 2015-16 season before transferring to IUPUI where he will play his final season of eligibility.
Todd Johnson (5’9 – Elkhart Memorial) – Committed to Northern Kentucky where he played all four seasons for the Norse.
Tyler Alderman (6’9 – Fishers) – Committed to Jacksonville where he played his first two seasons. He then transferred to Shorter University (DII) where he played the 2014-15 season. Did not play again.
