- Gary Trent Jr. Trent went toe to toe on both ends with fellow five star talent Brian Bowen and Gary’s team won, so he won that battle, and Gary outplayed Bowen, so he won that battle too. Trent Jr scored 31 points making half of his 22 shot attempts including six treys.
- D1 avenges the L. D1 Minnesota has lost twice this year; once to Team Loaded and one to Eric Gordon All Stars. Tonight they avenged the loss to Team Loaded and tomorrow they get a chance to avenge the Gordon All Stars L.
- Nate Reuvers Shines. The Badger commit was big in the first half scoring a key 11 that included a momentum building And1 plus he was strong early on the glass. Had a game high 22 points.
- Tre’s Gaze. The stare of Tre going at opposing defenders is one of a kind and opponents fear it. Why? Because Tre can muscle them and between his large and quick hands as well as his lateral quicks he devours the opposition. Had 10/8/6/5 in all out excellent effort.
- The 15s get it done! There is a lot of talk about young Tyler Wahl of Lakeville and the D1 15s and he backed that up with a double-double totaling 20 points and 11 boards. Tyrell Terry also had his 15 while controlling the ball.
- Jericho Sims Consistency. We are seeing Jericho play more and more consistently by the day. Today we saw fantastic offensive rebounding, we saw two post moves that were scored through multiple guys, and he was great defending at the arc and around the basket. Had 14/12 and it his offensive rebounding was game changing.
- The MN Wisconsin guys. Tonight was our first look at Simeon Davis and JaVonni Bickham playing with Wisconsin United. The United kids had a very tough outing so there wasn’t much Davis and Bickham could do coming off the bench with their team down but it was good to see them and we look forward to seeing them again this week.
- Oturo Mans the Middle. Daniel played the entire second half and fended off the Meanstreets frontcourt for his eight points and seven boards on five shots. Not huge numbers but key production.
- Who Needs a Bench? Pulley beat Meanstreets and did it without head coach Luv Harris or using their bench in the second half.
- Familiar Faces. Minnesota Select Ohnstad has come to Las Vegas and who do/did they play? Fellow NY2LA and SPTS opponents Dakota Schoolers and Wisconsin Playmakers. Select will be favored in both games so they have a good chance to win their pool. They beat the Schoolers this evening.
