New Orleans Elite took the first game in a close, 45-42, contest where neither team scored in the last five minutes of the game. Landry-Walker 2017 PG Lamont Berzat was the catalyst in the win while John Curtis 2017 G Kai Morgan made what ended up being the go-ahead 3-pointer with 5:17 left in the game.
The loss apparently didn’t sit well with Elfrid Payton Elite and they took control early on in the championship game en route to a 64-47 victory. EPE carried over its defensive intensity from the first matchup but was far more efficient on the offensive end of the floor.
EPE was in attack mode for much of the game repeatedly getting into the paint and converting at the rim. Devante Jones did most of the damage capping off what was an impressive tournament for the 2017 G and Natchitoches Central 2017 G/W Brandon Rachal stood out on both ends of the floor once again.
