PG Ayo Dosunmu (Morgan Park – 2018)
Ayo has been tearing it up all spring and he continued his dominance on Saturday with strong scoring performances for Morgan Park. Ayo is so smooth and crafty. He makes plays when you don’t think its anything there. Dosunmu is making his case not only for best guard in his class but with a 35 point performance on Saturday he’s trying to assert himself as one of the best in the state.
C Cameron Krutwig (Jacobs – 2017)
The big man from Jacobs dominated the post leading his team in points in all 3 games on Saturday. Cameron has great feel in the post, he’s not trying to be a stretch four or a face up big man he only wants to back you down and score over or through you. Krutwig keeps his defenders of balance because he has good foot work and really good hands around the basket. He is by far the best post in Illinois, with a good feel for the game Cameron should be a hot commodity come June.
PG Marcus Garrett (Hillcrest) G 2017
Marcus plays a physical and intimidating style of basketball for a guard. As the game goes he gets better by taking contact and creating it. For a 6’1 guard Garrett initiates contact almost on every play which causes other guards who aren’t as physically mature to back down. Later passed by Dosunmu, Marcus scored 31 points in Hillcrest first game of the day.
PG Bryce Langdon (Kenwood) G 2017
Langdon is still an unknown to most Illinois prep fans and columnista. He made his debut for Kenwood in good fashion. The 5’11 guard pushed the tempo and controlled the game for Kenwood in a tough match-up with the always talented St.Joe’s squad. Bryce has a great quick first step with a knack for finding his teammates either in the open court or in a half set. He either got to the rim or got to his pull up jump shot after he loss defenders. He finished the game with a win and 14 points.
F Jared Scott (Oak Park River Forrest- 2017)
After missing the whole second half of the season for OPRF and also missing the whole spring period of travel basketball Jared played like he was never hurt Saturday afternoon. The lefty forward played really well around the rim and Scott even hit a couple from long range. He finished 19 points in a win over Loyola.
